Sage 50 to Sage Intacct: An Integration Migration Playbook

What changes when you move from the COM-based Sage 50 SDK to the cloud-native Sage Intacct Web Services API — and how to phase the cutover.

Moving from Sage 50 to Sage Intacct is rarely a like-for-like API swap. The SDK was synchronous, lock-prone, and ran in-process on Windows. Intacct Web Services are stateless, OAuth-based, and rate-limited.

This playbook covers chart-of-accounts mapping, the historical-data cutover, parallel-running both systems during validation, and the integration patterns that change (e.g. webhook listeners replace polling, dimensions replace classes).
